The federal state of Carinthia is
supporting the candidacy by offering Klagenfurt as a venue. The “Wörthersee
arena” is being constructed as a multifunctional stadium according to
the model of the St-Jakob-Park in Basle. The future home arena of FC
Carinthia will take shape in the immediate vicinity of the idyllic Wörthersee.
In addition to the football stadium, the sports park is also due to house
a hotel, business facilities, a shopping centre, etc. Construction will
start in 2002 and be completed as early as 2004. |
